Another pair of warm wool socks

Some brand new off the needle warm socks for me to wear! That's good because it's supposed to snow tonight...in MD. Ugh. Can you hear the utter excitement in my words? For God's sake, it's the end of March! I just put the snow shovels and ice melt away.

Where has March gone?

I suppose you could say that time marching on has been used wisely, doing taxes, writing reports, cleaning. But you'd be wrong. I spend most of my time away from work knitting and sleeping. Just saying.

Lovely little socks....

I love this sock yarn. It is Regia and it is self patterning. I am almost finished with the heel flap and then it is on to the leg and cuff. I really like these. Really.

Super Bowl Socks....2012!

Being a huge Baltimore Ravens fan, I was at the LYS about a month ago and found this yarn. It is dyed locally and called "Nevermore" . So this is my progress today on these plain vanilla socks...although they are going to be anything but plain.

Go Ravens! 2012 is your year!

Can you say gaudy?

I actually like this yarn. I have switched to a size 1 needle for the leg and cuff for a tighter fit. I will see if that makes a difference.

Two snow days later....

Here is the slow progress on my first toe up sock. I have started to shape the heel, so it really is starting to look like a sock now.

These are in process. Regia sock yarn and size 2 needles. Hopefully these will fit me more snuggly than the other ones!

Vanilla socks January 2011

This is my very first pair of socks. The first one is a bit large, so I adjusted the second one on my own. It fits great. Off to cast on the next pair!

My thrift store find....a knitting bag!

I found this at my local thrift shop. It's a Talbot's handbag....not my style for a purse, but suits my needs for a knitting bag!

Success

My very first sock. Ever. It's too big and a few mistakes but I "conquered" the dpn. The second one will be a bit better. I think I have found a new addiction.
